Yes, but it’s an old rumor …my man on the inside told me that Softimage attitude is that they port XSI to any realistic platform …is the mac a realistic platform yet …dont think so …i think as soon as we start seen the pro 3d cards on Mac OSX then u will see Softimage follow and alot of other apps as well. But Apple have always had big problems with third party development and nothing suggest that their politics have radically changed.

I’d love to see the day it’s ported, but yeah, the GFX cards would have to be there to make the switch. I’m using OS X about 99% of the time now, and the PC less, be nice to see XSI on OS X so I could have one less platform to deal with.

    Nope.
Macs are getting closer to pc day by day in the next future thy will be equipped with intel processor, I don’t think is a revolution but mostly a change of strategy due to the lack of performances.
Few week s ago I was working on HD footage on a dual G5 with combustion and then I tryied the same on my home pc with a single AMD XP 2000+ ….the workflow and the speed was unmatchable!
I tryied after effects also, same result.
Obviously I’m a pc user but I have no problem to admit that if one day Macs will be faster I’ll think about a switch.
    Cheers
