super computer for digital grading and vfx?

Ok, after seeing the APEXX8 from boxx tech annoucement at nab, i was interested to know if there is any other super computer on the market ? and maybe cheaper than the Apexx.
A comp who can handle 2k digital grading, compositing, and editing.

The Flame/Smoke workstation (or the Lustre workstationin Linux and Windows) (HD/2k) in Linux use a more simple configuration (Dual opteron dual core, Quadro cards and Fiber to storage..), and the AME Toxik use a similar configurations. Others system can handle HD and 2k/4k (at least it is what the companies say ) with similar configurations Like the Final Cut (HD) using a quad core MAC or the Avid Nitris (Like DS Nitris) using a dual Xeon, raid and hardware accelerator. I believe this APPEX 8 is oversized to the most of softwares to compositing and 3D (except for render), One software to benefit itself it must be capable to use 16 cores and manage large memory banks. really good advices thx, but i was more looking torward a custom way, i mean no dedicated station, more like buying a sup comp, a license form scratch and a control panel from a third party.
more like an indie way for color grading and editing 2k.

Consider that monitoring devices, especially in HD, will cost mucho bucks, and grading within a not quality calibrated environment is like doin it with sunglasses, no matter the price of sunglasses. There are some solutions that could fit the indie way, like Color Finesse, really depends on your indiness 😉
