I think everyone regardless of the film industry is taking a hit. My question is adapting to it all. I work for a primarily dominant commercial post house. Getting new clients these days becomes tougher and tougher. The old schooler are either passed or out of the business. The younger generation may be prevailing. The fire, the energy, and the will to grow, rather than retire may be what is necessary to succeed. I have noticed that companies with relationships that deal primarily with Features seem to have not only the bigger budgets, the cool effects but the work flow as well. Is this true? Should we be looking more into the Feature work rather than the whats left over in the commercial world? Getting those contacts may not be so easy due to the fact that comfort, trust, security and routine is a tough one to pull away from an existing facility. Is revamping the way to go? Change is good but how much change is necessary? Mind you this is just a discussion regarding some insite on where you think the visual effect/post production is headed. Is the one stop shop the way to go, or is the one stop shop not hip anymore and breaking off editorial, visual effects, and graphics the way to go? Thanks!
