What is the main advance that has happened with compositing that has helped composites look so much better the last 5 years or so? Is it a specific tool that was implemented in Nuke or was it the spreading of a technique throughout the community? Prior to about 5 years ago the levels of the different layers of a composite would commonly not match (some would be more washed out or not as “contrasty” but these days it seems like its down to a science and I very rarely see a bad composite anymore even on network television shows.
