I have just heard a rumour that in the last swathe of redundancies at Discreet, that the development of TOXIK has been dumped. Anybody got any news on this??

As of the 20th of Feb 04, there is no change and Toxik is on track – everyone is fine.

February 19, 2004 at 11:49 pm #207707eltopoParticipantunless Apple buys it, and Toxik is becomes part of shake 4!
February 20, 2004 at 5:50 pm #207710Diogo GirondiParticipantVery unlikely, but if it happens then Apple would have to deale with a huge angry user base, and buy companies like Nothing Real and Emagic can’t be compared to aquiring a company like Discreet which is a division of Autodesk who is one of the biggest in it’s sector.
And even if Apple do buy part of the discreet line of products, I doubt that discreet would sell all their assets and projects like toxik.
Lets wait to see what happens at NAB late this year.
Good to know that toxik still on track tho 😉
Cheers,
