Hey,
relatively new to Fusion(about 6 months, switching from Combustion) and trying to do some rig removal, with a single frame cleanplate. I’m tracking elements on the original plate, but there still appears to be jitter on the track info.
I’ve applied a Color correct, a slight blur, then track to bring out my track reference and eliminate possible noise from grain. Is there something else i should be trying to eliminate jitter in the tracking? I’m using 4.04c.
The tracker adaptive mode is Track Center(append) with Sub-pixel on ‘none’.
any suggestions would helptdoan

The Track Center (append) mode is used to pick up a track mid way if a reference point becomes obscured or leaves the view. It allows you to pick a new reference point and append track data to the existing path resulting in a seamless track. Unless this is your case use Pattern Center. Also, I’m not sure why you set sub pixel to None. A sub pixel of 16 or 32 will result in a more accurate track.
If your track is still jittering, try increasing the Frames per path point. A setting of 2 will create a keyframe on every other frame resulting in a ‘softer’ track.
You might also try setting adaptive mode to Best Match.
Cheers,
Eric

thanks so much for the advice and explanation. I have to make a correction on what i posted too. Sub-pixel was actually set to 32. It was the Adaptive Mode that was set to ‘None’. Setting the Frames per path to 2 actually helped ‘calm’ the track info down. I was wondering what the difference was to setting the Adaptive mode to either Every Frame or Best Match. The book doesnt appear to be as clear as I would like. Do you know of particular situations I would want to change the adaptive modes?
again, thanks for the insight.Thai Son

Every Frame forces DF to re-acquire the reference pattern on every frame. Best Match compares the current frame to the original reference frame, if the difference exceeds a user set threshold then DF re-acquires the pattern, otherwise it continues to use original reference pattern.
Best Match can help when noise or lighting changes over time.
Hope this helps,
Eric
