Hi there,
Is the only difference between compiling an EDL from HD data and using a digibeta that you select Import from the import EDL module and not Capture? Are there any other differences?
In the Flame manual it only mentions that you select import when compiling an EDL from a file. Thanks!

I usually just conform the EDL (with no relinking), then soft-import all the data in the library, then reformat the conformed EDL clip to match the soft-import material, then throw the conformed EDL clip into the reel with all the soft-import material, then do a Conform From Reel (located in the tools menu in the library). After these steps, I’ll Consolidate (w/ handles) and Stonifise the relinked EDL clip.

1. Import all you HD footage into one reel.
2. Load your EDL.
3. In the EDL preferences make sure to DE-activiate “compare tape names” option.
4. On the left just to the right of the Load button you will see 2 blue boxes. One with the EDL title, the other for Library Reel… you need to change that library reel to be the one that contains your footage.
once you have done this correctly you will notice a little “x” appear next to all the event #’s on your edl. This confirms that the machine has found those shots.
5. Click Assemble.Voila. done like dinner.

For example, I may be working in a PAL at 10bit project but all the graded footage may be 2K, HD or 1K. In ‘Assembly Options’ you can force the EDL module to over ride the project settings.
cb.
