Hi guys.
I have just moved from Combustion to Flint and I have found all the tools except for one of the most basic ones: where is the grain/noise control?
Thanks for the help. 😯

There are two possibilities and both are under the Processing menu:
a. If you mean the option to generate noise or colour noise frames, press the Coloured Frame button, and then select the option desired (blue box).
b. If you mean the option to add or match the feature Grain in different clips, you just have to select the button Regrain to access its module.Good lucky,

Thanks for the help. I assumed that Noise was inside of one of the processes but Coloured Frame was the last one I checked. I don’t see the re-grain function but I am working with video footage so probably the Noise will work best.
Thanks again.

The Regrain feature is not an option from the Coloured frame’s pop up menu. In fact, it’s a button that allow you select clips for adding and/or matching grain characteristics between different clips. In inferno 5.3.2, the Regrain button is positioned next to the Coloured Frame button. In my opinion, if the job you’re working on right now requires great accuracy, it’s better to use the Regrain feature than the noise option, because you’ll find more precise tools inside its module.
Feel free to contact me if you need.My best,

Thanks again for the tip. From what I see the regrain function is not an option here. I have gone over the manuals and there is no mention of it. Then again, this is a Flint system so it was designed to work with video sources that you more easily match with noise.
Thanks for the help. I am applying a basic formula with the noise from the Coloured Frame menu and it is giving me satisfactory results.
The best for you.

You are remembering perfectly. After looking everywhere and going over the manuals (which I thought were lost- it is not my equipment), I have come to that conclusion which, of course, makes sense considering the target of the equipment. However, since the Noise function is inside another operator and Combustion does have a grain function at its core, I assumed that Flint would have it somewhere.
Anyway, thanks for the input. Case closed. 😀
