Hi all
I have 4 layer xml that we are importing from FCP. All works good…until we take the conform into batch.
each layer is a chroma key. We have figured out how to do the keys, but how do i import 3d that has been done else where, for each shot as separates?
or should i edit the 3d together and import as one clip???
what is the exact process to get the background layer in?
thansk all

The 3 layers are chroma key, but when u import into batch layers 1 2 3 are full. i can move them up and create a new layer but each shot has a specific 3d background that belongs to it. So i need to import one long clip or 3d backgrounds individually.
that sound better?

It sounds like you need to create a new layer for the 3d background. I know on the smoke, you can’t import a 3d object into the background layer, you have to create a new layer for the 3d image

I don’t see that it makes any difference doing it with one long clip though, if you’re just using the keyer soft effect on each clip which it sounds like you are…

you will have to change the source timeline to a record time line.
step forward to the multilayer edit.
add a new layer
shift all ur layers up one
press n for next edit click on the time line batch icon
go back to batch and import the shot into the batch desktop
click on it and it is there when you go into editing
also remember to set view to position so it renders the frame ur sitting on.
cheers
