Do the Versions of qt differ on both machines?
make 75frames of colour bars in both..75% and export with same settings mute.. no audio.
compare..

what settings on both exports did you use?
did the info on both quicktimes match apart from the file size?

I think my last place of work actually has 2 flames just sitting there doing nothing.. such a waste.. fools.
Think the Atlantic is to far to hurl it? :-/
I’m the same.. we on 8.5.6 it’s a pita..always has been. only way round is to have a dead frame of colour to the right to click for the render-out position.. but un-splicing edits etc seem to put the last clips to the start.. very confusing.

Find somewhere with a flame/inferno and beg/grovel for some time on the machine..nights/weekends, learn it, show intrest.. and eventually get given smaller jobs and work your way up. If you know your stuff (FFI just being a tool) you should advance pretty quickly.
Other than that try doing a FFI training course so you can hit the ground running, though these are pretty expensive.

Multi-edl should capture all the material from loaded edls into the selected library.You sure it’s not capturing everything and just assembling the selected edl ?
..Apparently release 2 3.5R2 fixes the shake crashing, and support @ PF are helping on the flame issue.

Slap NFS Manager on the mac .. share a dir to just the Flames IP
set root = all
add the share
use menu to activate all shares
reboot mac
in flame edit /etc/fstab
insert
10.128.0.52:/Volumes/YOUR_MAC_DISK/YOUR_SHARED_FOLDER/ /MACDISK nfs rw,hard,intr,bg 0 0
obviously chage the IP to ya mac’s IP and name above of disk..
then goto root and mkdir MACDISK
then type- mount -a
