Hello….
Easy to do, simply use the program snapshot. How to do this is located in the fxguide FAQ section:
John MontgomeryKeymasterWe’re running the new versions of flame on an Octane MXE and flint on an Octane SE without any problems.
The previous versions of inferno/flame were the last for RE2.
John MontgomeryKeymasterFrom an informal look over the software (I didn’t dig through each manual, etc.), the new features seem to be identical across the platforms.
Previous features such as motion estimation, camera tracking, etc. are still only available on inferno. And the MK is not part of flint….
John MontgomeryKeymasterYes…the new software was released today.
See the press release on the main page…
John MontgomeryKeymasterIn order to render your linetest, the “Texture” button must be off (just to the right of the linetest button).
The resolution setting will determine how coarse your rendered result is.
John MontgomeryKeymasterFirst off, thanks for checking out the site.
I just wanted to mention that there is a bug in the forums database, and need you to register to post in the future (after the bug is addressed).
You can just fill out any email, etc, if you don’t wish to be notified when posts are responded to. We don’t use the information for mailings, etc (unless you elect to receive updates).
Thanks…and keep posting.
John MontgomeryKeymasterYou know way too much, Sinan. 😉
I think in the future that we’d consider looking at doing that. However, I’ve done some extreme customizations to the layout to make things workable on mac, windows, and unix. And had to remove several items to make it work — especially on the unix side. I tried doing a Nuke upgrade to several modules, but they didn’t work because of the custom stuff I added. It’s becoming less and less nuke-like and more and more fxguide-custom-like.
Plus, it’s a lot of work to simply keep the news and tips coming — we’re busy doing stuff for 5/8 as well as the modifications to forums and tips/tricks.
Anyway…thanks as always for the comments.
John MontgomeryKeymasterI honestly haven’t had much luck with Mountstone, either. Still using the good ole reliable ftp.
I was at the users group meeting and didn”t really hear them mention anything (but I might have missed it). Backdraft has really come of age — it was a highlight of the users group meeting. So hopefully mountstone will soon follow.
John MontgomeryKeymasterToxik is the next generation product from discreet, which was shown in a “technology demo” form at the users group meeting on Sunday evening.
It is definitely real — I simply need to take time to file some reports here…
