You could try & use the cmtool, this has an option to remove
projects & such – type cmtool in a shell, then help & youll see all the
options – probably a good idea to handle it with care.BKM
kakutarvnParticipantI don’t use combustion… I work in broadcast, and we have 2 Smokes and suplement effects with AE/PS and Cinema 4D.
I already had a background in AE when Combustion was coming out. And it was being sold to me as an alternative to AE. But I stuck with what I knew.

kakutarvnParticipantIt takes like seconds to devide and prep your clips for proper usage.
If you don’t want to play within Smokes rules, then you will become very frustrated with other things later on.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantHonestly, I am suprosed that it has lasted this long. It never really fit in with the rest of Autodesk/Discreet gear.
Maybe they will offer it upfor free as a desktop roto tool when you by a Flame or Smoke.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantYes it does.. of course.
It is in the FX Tools under logic ops.
Just select your front and devide by matte. It will spit out a FAT key for you.

Unfortunately there isn’t a way for them to give you an instant license for cleaner.

kakutarvnParticipantThe history (setups) and the all clips needed to build the clip are archived. Your archive can get very large with history. But history is cool.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantI think the easiset way is to use re-entry.
Take the layer you want to ext-bicubic and re-enter that into a new layer with standard Front . Front and Matte > Matte routing.
Then select your original layer and scale it up so that it fills the raster.
Select your re-entry layer and sclae it back down to normal size.Turn on your ext-bicubes on the re-entry layer and they should now be of better use to you.

kakutarvnParticipantI have seen request like this before, and I still can’t imagine ever wanting to see this effect.
On the flip side, I imagine it is just like video guys wanting to use old scratchy film effects for stuff. It sets a mood. But scratchy film is cool, artifacts are just ugly.
Maybe you could just sequence export your material to jpg at a crappy quality and then reimport.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantAnother idea would be to simply wipe the Stones, uninstall Flame and reinstall. This would clear out the project directory and the stonefs/clip dir.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantI am not a Flame op, but a Smoke Editor.
Did you look in the Setup options for Action? There is also an overall render Resolution option.
But I imagine it is set to F1 as well.BKM
kakutarvnParticipantI’m comming from a Smoke view, but is there a “resize” option somewhere either in the Library or on the input clip module?
If you RESIZE a 16×9 clip into 4×3 and set it to Letterbox then it should crop top to bottom and give you your full 16×9 picture in a letterboxed 4×3.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantThey are all on the Discreet site and availiable to everyone.
BKM
kakutarvnParticipantYes.. the problem does exist, but Autodesk can’t seem to replicate the bug. So some have it and some don’t. I do as well.
I can’t really tell why it works sometimes and not others. I usually just enter the history and save the setup then exit and go back into text to make revisions. Than manually replace.
I am now running Smoke 2007. Haven’t run into the situation yet to see if it is fixed.
