KidParticipantG-Smoke,
If you want to use Texts done anywhere but Smoke, is good idea to have them rendered into a Tiff sequence or in another extension supported by Smoke…Then you can export it along with an Alpha Channel…And then using Import Image(with RGB+Alpha Button selected) bring it into Smoke
I don´t believe is good idea to use a Key done in AVID once you have a most powerful Keyer into Smoke…You should try to output your AVID sequence to a tape and then from there input the clip to your Smoke, using it as an offline/reference in a Video Track under your Assembled EDL, to compare both…This way you will be able to check if your scenes and texts, in the EDL, have the same timing and behavior as in your Avid sequence…Just use the View Button you have in your Big Player to compare both Video Tracks…Once more, I would urge you to do your Key again using the Smoke Keyer…
Hope to be useful again,
Ricardo
KidParticipantHi G-smoke,
It is quite usual work with multilayered timelines in Smoke…I’m not very sure about your doubts…But the way one nornally works to have the AVID timeline into Smoke is through an EDL (maybe a CMX 3600)…If you have more than one layer you should select “Multiple EDLs” in the capture mode to have all the tapes, wich were used in the avid timeline, available to be captured…When you exit the capture mode you should select M-assemble to assemble your EDL just like it was inside your AVID timeline…Also when you choose M-assemble it brings you to the M-assemble Mode, where you have to choose wich videos are Video Tracks or Layers…This is mandatory to your Timeline work properly…
I hope it adresses your questions,
Ricardo
