Merrill DataSiteFParticipantMaybe this will help explain my problem. I am compositing a new image onto the tablet so I am compositing the hand back over the image. But when I cut into the hand too much it doesn’t match the original motion blur.

So after that I am using the F_MotionBlur node to reintroduce motion blur around the edges of the hand. I’m just wondering if there is a better way to do this?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantWhen I use the motion blur parameters in the roto node I get unwanted background images. I could cut more into the foreground image but then I lose more of the subject.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantTo control the blacks, gamma and highlights I would have to isolate different parts of the image and get their averages to drive a grade node I suppose? My shots has a lot of movement though. This might prove complicated.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantThanks. I tried taking the average intensities of a clip and subtracting it from a good reference frame and adding the results to each channel. The clip looks slightly better. Is there a way to use the curvetool to control the blacks, gamma and highlights? Is there a way to drive a levels tool this way?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantI tried the Flicker plug-in on the Flame but the strobbing is too long I think. I’ll look into the curves function. Maybe that will work.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantReformat to the format you need and then consolidate the video! Or vice versa I guess? But it’s working and it’s glorious. Very happy. The Red Rocket card is great. Woo hoo!
Thanks y’all.

Merrill DataSiteFParticipantI seem to remember doing this before. I am going to try and offline the empty XML and then try re-linking the dpx files.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantI’m also working on a 2010 Smoke.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantGrant-
Thanks for posting. Final Cut Pro was used for the offline. I have tried exporting XMLs from Final Cut into the Smoke I can’t get the dpx sequences to connect at all in the Smoke that way. For some reason an EDL is the only way I get the Smoke to connect to the sequences I am making out of the RED Rocket.
Thanks,
Eugene
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantExcellent. Good to know. I appreciate the tips.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantSo you can conform a project from the native R3d files adjusting color balance and geometry from the RAW data?
Can a timeline be a mix of R3d and DPX files in the Lustre?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantSo you can’t work with R3d files in a conformed project sourcing the 4k data like you can in a Scratch system? I am looking at conform solutions that can source the R3D files in the color correct session that does not need debayering until after the session is finished.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantI have a project edited on the AVID in 720p 23.976. I want to see if I can get it into our Smoke system to uprez to 1080p. I consolidated a timeline in the AVID and exported an AAF and copied the media onto our server. I can’t seem to get the media to link up to the AAF file.
Has anyone tried this before?
