Merrill DataSiteFParticipant
So I’ve been testing using the Smoke system as a source deck and it seems to be working great so far. I am able to conform a film, export and EDL and then the DaVinci colorist can start working on the project right away using that same Smoke system.
The one odd thing I came across is that our D5 and HDCAM machines do not recognize the Smoke system as a deck when everything else will. Do these machines require a special 422 cable configuration?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantGood to know. Hopefully Autodesk can write the headroom option into the file import function. 12 channels of audio would be helpful these days too.
Thanks for the post.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantThanks for the help.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantSounds good. I want to give this a try when we get the time.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantWhat information do I need in the DPX files to ensure a smooth link-up? Right now I am working with film scans but I want to test a Red workflow using DPX files from a Final Cut offline edit. What type of information do I need to make sure everything links up?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantAwesome. Thanks so much guys.
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantThanks for getting back to me. My company is getting a Smoke system and I was curious to see what it does versus the Flame. I have been doing onlines with Final Cut Pro and I do all my effects with Shake and AE. I myself am interested in VFX so I wanted to see what I could expect to see in the Smoke system.
What is Bfx?
Merrill DataSiteFParticipantThanks. Good to know.
