Client attendance also depends on what kind of work you are doing, back when I worked in commercials it was quitw common for you to have a whole room of clients, agency people, production people and editors. Also depending on the type of work involve, it may be to boring, then the clients may suggest they might pop out for a bit, or I may suggest they come back in a few hours. In films things are different, you can sometimes go for weeks without seeing any clients.
You think being called a compositor is confusing, be glad you weren’t around in the days of Harry, I forget the number of times a car insurance company would ask, “what’s a Harry operator?Paul
Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantnavigate to:
/usr/discreet//bin/resthere you will find an sgi file called ‘title’
this is the fish or scorpion logoPaul
Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantWe use boujou and synthise, and on our last movie we had 4 or 5 dedicated tracking artists

Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantXavier,
what type of work do you? We work mainly in 2K 12 bit, and have many problems, but the worst is the drop in IO performance, particularly in Backdraft, which is Ironic as it was sold to us an IO station, for example PAL frames are now taking 10s a frame to export, and that, gigabit.Paul
Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantWe have just upgraded our infernos, backdraft and burn to the .5 release and I would advise NOT TO DO IT, yet. We are finding bugs every day currently (I will post a list of the ones we have so far, soon)
It seems to be a case of release early, fix later at clients expense, a practice which seems to be more and more common.
I for one would rather have a solid version rather than lots of new tools, in fact if it was’nt for the fact that Discreet have (yet again!) changed the library structure we would definately go back to 5.3.2.Paul Round
Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantThanks,
I have managed to do it, but it is a bit long winded, setting keyframes then copying and deleting keyframes.Paul Round
Peerlesspaul_roundParticipantWe’ve been using 3rd party arrays on our 3 Infernos for 18 months now, with no problems at all.
