Hey Jay, PFTrack is definitely brilliant. I’ve been doing the fxphd course on it and it really has a lot of excellent features, plus it is quite usable at the same time. That said, it is a bit on the pricy side.
For the best bang-for-the-buck have a look at Syntheyes. The GUI is…. “special”….but under the hood it is quite powerful as well. And it is dirt cheap, compared to the other packages.
As Mike said, I can strongly suggest doing the fxphd course, as you can try the packages out for an extended period plus get top notch training on them at the same time (unfortunately there is no Syntheyes training but I’m sure the general knowledge will transfer just fine).
