Can anyone comment on whether or not the OSX version is fixed for this release? A yes or no is all I am looking for. 🙂

I was wondering the same thing…
I got the email stating that if I buy Combustion3 I’d get a free upgrade to 4. Sounds tempting and if it’s a better version for the Mac all the better 8)

Ok right off the bat let me just say I’m way out of my league when it comes to Discreet products. I’m learning Combustion right now but when it comes to the other products I’m lost. Having said that I gotta say I’m suprised to see mention of Final Cut Pro and OS X here. For what I do that combo has been great but I’m exploring other options for finishing and color correction. Avid… Haven’t really looked into them yet. Media 100… Been there, done that, didn’t really like it. Discreet… Interesting but expensive yet not out of the realm of possibility. It will be interesting to see what Apple pulls out of it’s hat at NAB this year.

Thanks for the input. It looks like I’ll be learning Combustion on my Mac and maybe buying a PC when I get the real deal. My G5 is great for the Apple Pro Apps but for the price of upgrading it to run Combustion really well I could buy a uber-fast PC. Maybe by the time I get the full version on Combustion Discreet will get the bugs worked out of the Mac version
    😕

The system I’m using now is a 1.8Ghz single processor G5 with 2GB of RAM which runs the demo version quite well. I will be upgrading the grapics card soon to something like a Radeon 9800 Pro. I’ve also been looking at the new Medea G-RAID for storage. I was planning on making those upgrades to my G5 but if there is a specific advantage to using the PC I’d go that route.
    Thanks for your reply 😀

I’m really liking Combustion! The only thing that is confusing me is sometimes I adjust some parameter (like scale) and nothing happens because the layer I want to work on is not loaded into the viewport. Still just finding my way around but loving it! The color corrector is awesome!!!
