HI Ricardo
Fx done on the avid were cc,txt , pan and scan.
Its a long format editorial and all checks etc … are done on the Avid… Smoke is only used for CC , Stabilizing and other enhancements.
If you have already done these effects and are happy with the avid version you could always just put the avid sequence out to tape or serquence and generate an EDL with the source timecode identical to the record then grab the sequence in (from tape or file – whatever you are using) and use the edl to conform your timeline with cut points in the relevant positions.
David StewartParticipantI suppose you couldn’t render and timewarp the text elements then rekey them over your footage? If you don’t need to change animation timings this might work…
David StewartParticipantIf you can get each persons key without any overlap just have a different layer for each shadow. This will allow you to move them around and line them up appropriately.
If you are in flame try using an extended bicubic with subdivision or a deform to warp them around to the correct positions.
David StewartParticipantCheers Tim. Handy stuff.
David StewartParticipantG’day,
We have used Silhouette on a couple of jobs that required lots of roto – one was crowd replication using a bunch of shot plates and it held up pretty well. The ability to select multiple points and transform them independently of the rest of the shape was pretty helpful.
At the time the tracker was not so great but this was a while ago so i can’t comment on the current version. We also had a problem with scripts being node locked to the machine they were done on so we could only render on that machine. Again this was a while ago so may have been changed in more recent versions.
I haven’t used motor as extensively but can say that it has an awesome planar tracker.

Jimmy JDavid StewartParticipantYou can adjust your border offset inside the keayer individually for each gmask.
David StewartParticipantI remember reading something like this over at vfxtalk a while ago. The link is below…
David StewartParticipantThat’s not the bug we are referring to, the one we mean is where the frame channel and frame all buttons on the right hand side of screen disappear.
David StewartParticipantI’ve got the same thing in my Flame and Smoke. Are you running 2008 SP1? Perhaps it’s a change in the new version as I don’t recall having to do it on older versions.
David StewartParticipantThis probably doesn’t help you but I have noticed this happening in the last 2 days in my Smoke 2008 SP1. It only seems to happen occasionally in timeline soft effect cc and when i leave the animation tab and re-enter it the buttons appear again.
I haven’t really done any tests as I’m busy but when I get a chance I’ll try and work out how to recreate it and it may help you log a bug report.
David StewartParticipantI like that spot. Amusing and it looked pretty cool.
David StewartParticipantGreat reel. Plus you used an Aussie bands music 😉
David StewartParticipantwhich version of flame and platform are you using?
Do you get this problem in the animation tab of any other modules?David StewartParticipantcool reel!
