suresh kParticipant
I just love this one: http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?model_id=MDL101631 Dead cheap. Retail price around 4700 dollars.
suresh kParticipantNot sure about that. Its not as bad as it sounds. I used to have the video desktop feature on all the time but when color said i had to disable it, i did. Haven’t really missed it that much. Thought i would.
I have a dual 23″ cinemadisplay setup and a 19″ broadcast monitor. One screen for the app itself, the second for the scopes and the broadcast monitor for the output.
suresh kParticipantSupports pretty much what ever you have (with Quartz Extreme) but its “recommended” to have a x1900xt 512mb. Aja and Decklink, new and old should work. Again its “recommended” to have one of the newer ones.
Only downside with color is the fact that you have to shutdown the videodesktop feature on your capturecard.
suresh kParticipantIm guessing the folks at Autodesk took the site away cause it got “published” in this forum.
Which could mean a few things. Webmaster made a misstake with putting the release date on the site or the product won’t get finished this year after all.Took a while to find the site that had the info cause i couldnt find Combustion at all, thought they had removed it at first. Still hard to find the Combustion site. Its not under the Tv site.

What? Where? Who …. I mean … where did you get that from???
Its on the combustion site: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=10244049
Thanks guys!
suresh kParticipantHave not tried Monet but Pixel Farms PFhoe2.0 Pro does the job quite well! Its it very affordable aswell! (And super easy) http://www.pfhoe.com – DL the demo and see what you think or just look at the videotutorial from cmi!
suresh kParticipantThis is how I organise my projects.
xxxx (Projectnummer) – Title = Main/project folder.
Usually contain 3-6 subfolders depending on the project.– Art (subfolders PSD And TIFF – Files named after what they are. Main menu etc)
– Media (coded media)
– Comp (workspaces, scripts etc)
– C4Ds (subfolders to diffrent renders named after date + c4d workspaces and materials)
– SubtitelsThis structure is used in almost (depending on project) every single dvd I produce
When I edit I simply use Final Cut pros structure. Just save the scratch disk to a new folder called: “xxxx – Titel”. I just add a “graphics” and a “Final” folder.
So when im done editing the media I save the file to the “Final” Folder. Drag the whole folder to one of my raids and start the coding process.I don’t have to worrie about not having enough space (we buy 7tb raids every 5-6 months depending on need) so everything is saved on my raids. So if i did screw something up i just need to drag the folders back to my computer and correct the error!
suresh kParticipantIs this what you mean?
suresh kParticipantHey!
Answer to your first question is: It depends. Im no Flash/Combustion Guru but the only way for combustion to export an swf is to do it through the paint operator. (please correct me if im wrong) You can apply effects to the paint, but it wont show up in the file. There is an Flash mode button in the Paint toolbox you can check and then see whats available.
Question nr.2: I’ve read somewere that you can get an EQ looking effect if you use expressions. But there is no simple way to achive that in Combustion. Trapcode has a plug-in called “sound keys” that does exactly that but it only works for After effects
Hope this helps
suresh kParticipantOkey, fixed it, not sure if its the right way to do it but it worked!
Made a new comp and copy pasted all the layers to the new comp! -
