It does this so that you can manipulate the controls and view an entire HD frame at the same time. If you want to go back to the normal UI behaviour change the button that says “OverlayUI” to “Player”.
Thanks a lot dude… Sorry to bother you with such a silly thing… I guess I freaked out when I saw that…. ooooppppss…. sorry and thanks
thelibranParticipanthi.. thnx for all replies… todays talk was a lot helping with these points….
thelibranParticipantThnx for the reply… We work on both film and commercials… Time is the biggest problem i have faced here… Films are made and released in 6 months time.. means post and effects for 2 months… out of that we get 30-45 days to finish 50-60 shots… Its all small small jobs…
thelibranParticipanthi…
anyone tested the new AMD Athlon 64bit systems for speed….
any idea abt system costs…???thelibranParticipantI tried a Dual G5 1.X something I dont remember with 2 GB RAM and a ATI FIRE GL (I guess so) nearly 4 months back when it was first deployed in my old company… I tried SHAKE some files with PAL res and the result was again bad… It got struck while I tried multiple undo and made me Force quit shake 2-3 times and to restart G5 2 times…. I couldnt even get 1FPS playback and on applying a mask it was taking hell a lot of time… Once I started adding more than 4 layers… system started dragging… Engineers told they will show the performance after 2 days and they did many things on that system and couldnt make it better… Am getting a lot better perfomance on a PC with AMD athelon XP 2400 running on ASUS A7N8X-E with a Geforce4MX card… I am trying get the GeForce replaced for a better card… But still I am getting better performance in PC even when it crashes 2-4 times per day….
thelibranParticipantDEAR FLGB.
It is advisable for you to visit this link
this will tell you more about your Geforce2MX.
I am using PC’s(workstations) for last 5 yrs for production and it has given me the best speed than any mac. When I was working as editor I was using both Avid on PC and FCP on a Mac G4… Mac was full of troubles mainly because of the video card issues. For urgent work we nevr used to go for mac. Avid on PC was our best solution. Now I am in front of a mac G4 Dual working on SHAKE. I am finding this a biggest waste. SHAKE on a PC running on linux has always given me best performance. and it depends on the hardware you use for PC. without thinking about the hardware, dont blame a PC….
