Saran SirikasamsapParticipant
im waiting to see how good the sapphire stereoscopic plugs are when it come to speed and GPU acceleration :).. but yeah, i see what u mean, a new box with cooling. wonder if cuda would be a viable alternative to burn* ?
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantperhaps a simpler version of backdraft* running off a laptop thats only for archiving 🙂
the new features look supercool, hopefully SLI in the future would help make processing even faster without having to buy burn*
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantyeh but its in german, and even though i registered it doesnt accept my login and no reply from site admin…
Saran SirikasamsapParticipanttime flies >>>
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantadd a grade node or CC node, and instead of RGb chose the pass u want it to affect.
Saran SirikasamsapParticipanthahahaha ok cool

Do you know something we don’t.Saran SirikasamsapParticipantim just waiting for the flame*/lustre* stereoscopic tools..and any news that autodesk is buying the foundry 🙂
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantmaybe he wanted to know if he should apply the LUT during import for the file based conform.
perhaps if you can tell us what you’re going to do to the shots ? like Paul said, if you’re simply assembling it and exporting out then don’t change the color space.

However, if all you are doing is an assemble, no effects work at all, I would keep them in log space.
Paul
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantnot more than 2 lines, 1 space between each word, and of course u have to check the size or else the people in the 1st 15 rows will get neck aches reading from left to right 🙂 also keep in mind “some” cinemas have blanking on the sides so its better to check with the place thats doing the neg work for you…still in NZ ?
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantyup 🙂 will mail ya soon
Saran SirikasamsapParticipantif your team already knows combustion well, then go for Toxik [ composite for max and maya ]
its has stereo tools built in, and supports DLP output if u have the right hardware.nukeX with ocula would save you a lot of time if your team is familiar with it and its workflow.
as far as formats go, look up the specs of a typical projector >http://www.christiedigital.com/AMEN/Products/christieMirageS8K.htm

Hey
We have been approached by a client to do a stereoscopic project, that is going to be displayed at a trade show. This is our first time doing such a project. We will probably go for a the projector with polarised glasses.
We primarily use combustion and 3ds max here, so I was wondering if combustion is capable for this kind of work flow. We are open to getting another compositing program if required but prefer combustion as our entire team knows how to use it. We were also wondering if there was a special type of final file format required for these type of 3d projectors. Any advice would be appreciated. If any one has any links to more information that would be great.
Cheers
