Pete HoffmanParticipant
Working fine for me in Nuke 6.3v1/2/3/4 on OS X 10.5.8.
Excuse this question if need be, but just to cover the obvious.. have you selected the Add Faces tool before trying to draw the face? The Select/Edit tool, which is selected by default, draws a marquee select box when you click-drag. Only thing that springs to mind right now.
What OS are you on?
Pete HoffmanParticipant“..do you know if there is anyway of visualising an Objects UV layout in Nuke?”
Hey David,
For UV visualisation, maybe have a look into Nathan’s UVViewer plug-in for Nuke (versions 5.2v3 and 6.0v1 for Linux, OSX, and Windows). All for free.
///// From Nathan Dunsworth’s Resume
UVViewer:
Texturing Geometry can be difficult in Nuke since there is no means for displaying the UV layout of imported Geometry.
UVViewer is a binary plugin which draws the UV layout of connected Geometry in the Viewer allowing compositors to easily edit textures which will be placed on 3D objects. The UV layout is drawn with OpenGL inside the Viewer, this means it does not modify images and is simply a Viewer display item.

I making my Roto and copying a tracker’s transform keys to the RotoPaints transform tab. Everything works like a charm, except that after I close and reopen my script the Roto isn’t where it’s supposed to be and the tracking isn’t working anymore.
The funny thing is that nothing in the tracker or thetransform tab changes. They are both shoing the same keys, but the RotoPaint moves very different from the track now.
Had the same problem with several scripts now.
If I apply the track to a transform node after the RotoPaint, everything works fine… that was my solution so far…I’m guessing you are cmd/ctrl+dragging the transform values using the Curve button (i.e. both values being copied at the same time).
This is a known issue in Nuke 6.0v1 (which is mentioned in the Release Notes under bug #10024).
As a workaround (only one more step) cmd/ctrl+drag the x knob value and then the y knob value over to the corresponding knobs in the RotoPaints Transform tab. Do not use the curve button. This wll be fixed in a future release.
Side Note: You can access the Release notes web link through the Help menu in Nuke 6.0v1. Or, just go to The Foundry website and browse through to it on the Nuke page.

Pete HoffmanParticipantHave a look at this for some more info on Nuke’s colour management:

A few more tutorials coming soon (with updated Viewer LUTs information), so keep a look out for them 🙂 .
Pete HoffmanParticipant..can you see the image the viewer is hooked up at all.. or is it only a series of random coloured pixels and nothing else?
Pete HoffmanParticipantIt sounds like you’re running the PLE version. Random colour pixels will be displayed in the Viewer and some of them will change as you progress through the image sequence.
Alternatively, if you are not in the PLE version, what OS are you running and what version of Nuke?
Pete HoffmanParticipantIt won’t even let me upload an image  too tired for this
Pete HoffmanParticipantI have some examples for you, but I can’t find a way to attach my zip file (under 1mb in size). I can mail them to you if you want.. will need an address.

Pete HoffmanParticipantHowdy,
Its possible 🙂
It should be the same combo as your mouse. Holding down Alt and the middle mouse button (MMB) you have mapped to your wacom pen, whilst moving the pen left/right or up/down. Its been a while since I’ve used my wacom, so if the combo isn’t working with Alt, try it without (i.e. hold the MMB equivalent on your pen and move it left/right or up/down on the tablet). Both have to be down whilst over the viewer, otherwise it will zoom in/out when done over the DAG (node graph). Zooming works a little differently in 3D view (btw).
Give that a try, let me know how you go.
Shite, look at the time.. I need a beer.
Cheers,
