Cooke Optics Introduces RED Set of S4/i Lenses for the RED ONE Camera .
Cooke Optics has announced a new Cooke RED Set, a package of four standard Cooke S4/i lenses offering a range of focal lengths from 15mm through 100 mm. The lenses incorporate /i metadata capture technology that can be read directly by the /i contacts of the RED camera lens mount, allow for vfx artist to get ALL the lens information up to 100 times a sec – such as zoom, fstop AND reference that allows dynamic pin cushion – lens curvature correction during a shot ! The set will sell for $97,000. The set includes a 15- 40mm zoom and 3 primes , 50, 75, and a 100mm all T2.0.
The lenses come fully equipped with Cooke Intelligent Technology that enables film and digital cameras to automatically record key lens and camera data for every film frame, which can then be provided digitally to post production teams. The technology streamlines both production and post, saving significant time and costs and eliminating guesswork, whilst enabling greater creative freedom. As RED has built support for Cooke Technology into the contacts of the RED camera lens mount, no additional equipment is needed.
Scheduled delivery of the Cooke RED Set begins in January 2008 from Cooke Optics. Users can reserve the Cooke RED Set now with 10% fully refundable deposit. As a standard lens package, it will work with any camera system.
This address the need for a high quality lens kit – above the quality of the standard RED lenses, but there is bound to be interest in buying just one of the lenses and fxguide has no information yet if the lenses can be bought unbundled.
