Cinefex is regularly described as the visual effects industry bible, and the person behind the incredible magazine is Don Shay, who started the quarterly journal in 1980. Shay has recently retired as the magazine’s publisher – we took the opportunity to talk to him about his time at the magazine, thank him for his enormous contribution and hear his thoughts on the visual effects industry today and how it has changed since Issue #1 35 years ago.
On behalf of a grateful visual effects industry we’d like to say : “Thanks Don – you’re a legend!“.
(But dont worry the magazine is in good hands as you can hear in this week’s fxpodcast interview)
BTW: Mike interviewed Don before to celebrate 25 years of Cinefex (click here for the original interview)
