fxpodcast #300: Haarm-Pieter Duiker

Haarm-Pieter Duiker has been a major contributor in the world of film and games research. He helped facilitate the ACEScg format and workflow and the creation of the ACES 1.0.1 OpenColorIO config (see our story from Siggraph 2015).

Haarm-Pieter Duiker is also a consultant for many film, visual effects and games projects. His consulting firm, Duiker Research, has consulted on projects with Epic Games (See our GDC Story), Lucasfilm (including ILM XxLAB), The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, MINE Inc. and others. He has been a Product Manager at Autodesk and mental images and CG Supervisor at Digital Domain and Electronic Arts among others.

He has worked in visual effects for film and video games for the last 16 years, most recently on Transformers 3 and Super 8, with credits on 2012, The Matrix: Reloaded, The Matrix: Revolutions, and Speed Racer. He has developed technology solutions in the areas of rendering, lighting, and color management.

His work has been patented, nominated for an Academy Award, and presented in conferences, magazines and online. Haarm-Pieter holds a Computer Science degree from UC Berkeley.
