Autodesk Signs RED SDK License Agreement at IBC 2008

Autodesk Inc. has agreed to terms with the RED Digital Cinema Camera Company and has signed the RED R3D Software Developer’s Kit License Agreement. RED provides a high-performance digital cine camera with the quality of 35mm film and the convenience of pure digital. Autodesk is a world leader in entertainment and design software.

Autodesk products such as the Inferno, Flame and Flint visual effects system, Smoke finishing system and Lustre digital color grading system are used to create compelling visual imagery for commercials, television shows and feature films. Autodesk products have shaped blockbuster content, from Olympics, World Cup and Super Bowl TV content, to top grossing films such as Titanic, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Spider-Man trilogy, Iron Man and Transformers.

  1. This is a great move for both parties. I’ve been hoping for this since seeing the first .r3d footage. The future is RED.
