Kevin Pike Elected to Emmy’s SVE Governor

fxguide congratulates Kevin Pike on being elected as the new Special Visual Effects Governor for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Special Effects Supervisor, Kevin Pike, an industry professional for over 36 years, started his career on “JAWS,” in 1974. For AMPAS, he serves as a member of the Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee and has served on the Sci-Tech Committee.

As an active member of ATAS since 1995, Kevin has continuously contributed his services on the Executive Committee for Governors Bill Millar, Steven Scott, Dan Curry, Geoff Mark, Peter Moyer and Mark Spatny. Over the years, Kevin has garnered several awards and nominations, including an Emmy (1994-95) for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Special Visual Effects for “Earth 2.” He was considered for Oscar nomination and received a BAFTA nomination as Special Effects Supervisor of “Back to the Future.” He earned a Clio for the Best Special Effects (2000) on a commercial for Michael Bay. Kevin was endorsed by previous Governors, Steve Scott and Dan Curry.
