Fxguide was started as way to bring together professional visual effects artists and designers in an online community. One of the main reasons Jeff, Mike and I started the site was to serve as a clearinghouse for cool tips and tricks for artists to share with other artists. For this reason, we’re starting our 2004 Tips and Tricks drive with a giveway for those artists whose tips are accepted for publication. Thanks to the generous support of Eyeon, Discreet, Xstoner, and others we’ve got a nice set of prizes to give away for the second half of the contest…..

How does it work?
- Submit your tip to fxguide.com. It may be for any product or category — Digital Fusion, discreet, Nuke, Shake, or other.
- If your tip is accepted for publication (see below), we’ll notify you via email and you are entered in a random drawing for one of the prizes.
- You can submit as many tips as you want, but you will only be entered in the drawing once for each tip which is accepted for publication. So if you submit 5 tips and 4 are accepted — you are entered in the drawing 4 times.
- If your name is drawn, you will win *one* of the prizes listed in the giveaway, so there are four winners per drawing date.

Why aren’t we just entering every tip which is submitted? We want to make sure that the tips which are submitted are uhhh….let’s just say fxguide-worthy. We don’t want simple operational tips. We don’t want plagarized quotes from the manual. We want real world tips that other professionals would find useful. That’s not to say “simple” tips won’t make the cuts — sometimes the “simplest” tricks are the best. In other words, your tip doesn’t have to be a 200 line expression cross-linking multiple modular keyer nodes in batch. We have a varied submissions panel and to not make the cut you have to be rejected by all judges. So give it a shot. Session expired Please log in again. The login page will open in a new tab.
