In this episode of the fxpodcast, we speak to Christopher Townsend VFX supervisor of Loki Season 2.
The Loki series on Disney+ is based on the Marvel character of the same name. It is the third television series in the MCU produced by Marvel Studios. The series takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame when an alternate version of Loki creates a new timeline. Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki from the film series, starring alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, and Ke Huy Quan.

Loki Season 2, picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), Loki navigates an ever-expanding and dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and a glorious purpose.

We spoke this week to Christopher Townsend, the production visual effects supervisor of Loki – having previously been the VFX supervisor of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), amongst many others.
