fxguidetv #173: The making of A Cautionary Tail

This week we sit down with two of the filmmakers behind the hybrid animated short A Cautionary Tail. The film, starring Cate Blanchett, David Wenham and Barry Otto, tells the story of a girl born with a tail and was made with real sets and CG animation. We go behind the scenes with director Simon Rippingale and animation director Paul Perrott.

A Cautionary Tail will soon screen at the Sydney Film Festival, and then at the Palm Springs International ShortFest and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Find out more at the film’s official site.

And below, check out some on-set stills from the production of the film.
